Personal Data Monitors
Create a personal data monitor to keep track of your own data. This feature allows you to search our database for reports against your personal information, such as your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying details.
A subscription of $6 per year allows you to enable automated monitoring, and you can receive instant notifications when your personal data is reported by other companies.
You can also run a manual search at any time to check if your personal data has been reported. Manual searches are free and can be performed as often as you like.
How to Create a Personal Data Monitor
You can create a personal data monitor by following these steps:
- Log in to your FraudRecord account.
- Navigate to the "Personal Data Monitors" section in your dashboard.
- Click on "Add New Monitor".
- Fill in the required information.
Personal data will be encrypted using our one-way encryption process and stored that way only. Neither we nor you can see the original data you provide after creating the data monitor, but we can still monitor it because we only match the encrypted versions of the data between reports and monitors.
Our dashboard accepts the plaintext data you provide, encrypts it, discards the plaintext data and stores only the encrypted version in our database. You can also submit the encrypted data itself without providing the original value to us.
Personal data monitors will not be visible to other service providers. You can create up to 15 monitors. You can delete or replace them any time.
Monitoring Verified Email Addresses
If you provide an email address as a data monitor, we can verify it as per your request by sending a confirmation email to that address. Verified addresses can be used to identify reports against you, and you will be able to respond to reports using our dashboard.
When you run a manual search, any reports that include one of your verified email addresses will show an option to respond to the report.
We accept any type of personal data as a monitor, however, only email addresses can be verified. Therefore only email addresses can be used to respond to reports. If you create a monitor for a phone number, name, or any other type of personal data, you will not be able to respond to reports that include that data. However, you will be able to search for them and you can receive notifications if they are reported by other service providers.
Our system will also automatically mark any of your account email addresses as verified if you have a personal data monitor for that email address, so you don't need to verify the same email address twice, once during registration and again during data monitor creation.
